I looked around my office this afternoon and was surprised to find that I have four computers humming away in the room. Plus my laptop and a couple of other machines which are very old and never powered up.

This cannot go on. I'm embarking on a rationalisation plan and moving some of them out into the server room and a couple of them will be combined into a single box. It all started when I replaced my office machine and kept the old one on to be a forum server. Then I got a system to support Class server, followed by another office machine upgrade. In the old days you had to be sat next to a computer to use it, but with remote desktop and the like I reckon that I can bear to be parted from these machines. And I might get some desk space and peace and quiet back.
