In the UK we have a charity thing called Red Nose Day. I've been involved since forever. Each time it comes around I dust off my dictionary and put together a lecture in rhyme. I'll be doing another one (based a bit on the one I did last time about .NET). If you are in Hull, England, on Friday and want to come and see me strut my stuff, then feel free to drop by Lecture Theatre A in the Robert Blackburn Building on the University of Hull campus at 12:15.
Andy from Microsoft is coming down with some bits and bobs to auction off as part of the event, which is great (and means I can tell some of my Microsoft jokes). I'm going to try and get some pictures of the event and maybe even a recording (but then again, who'd want to watch that).
Of course, if you visit the
web site or do anything connected with the event you are honour bound to put some money in a collecting tin somewhere. I don't really care where you put the money, it is not as if the world is short of good causes....
