I've had a new machine my office for some time. It has plenty of memory and quite a fast processor. I've never really made it suffer. Until today. The combination of a Virtual PC runing Server 2003, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Visual Studio 2003, Visual Studio 2005 and finally Photoshop Elements managed to make it go a bit weak at the knees. Everyhing kept working, but to the accompaniment of a lot of hard disk clatter. I must admit I was secretly very impressed. Nothing actually failed, but some things took quite a long time to finish. I was very surprised when I counted up what I had been running.

I really must be more careful to finish one job before I start another....
