The Day The Music Died

Been off at a conference. I was presenting a poster about C#. When I get the pictures off the camera I'll show you what it looks like....

Anyhoo, last night I was sitting in a hotel room, miles away from home, and I thought I'd put some music on. So I fire up my Portable Media Centre and try to listen to some of my Napster music. I've signed up for Napster to go (wonderful service) and so I can download anything I like (and I like a lot) and listen to it on the Zen.

Until last night. All my licences expired. I was listening to one track, it moved onto the next, and stopped. Just like that. I could look at the album art but playing music was off the menu for the night. The first time I go away in ages and all my mobile content goes toes up. Ho hum.

It must be because I've not plugged the Zen into the PC for a while. But it was rather sad (and vivid proof of what happens to the media when its time is up). At least I could play some of the hundred or so albums that I own....

The good news is that I've just plugged it back into the PC at home and everything works now.  But I'll definitely synchronise more often from now on.

That's the problem with renting music rather than owning it. :-)
