Some time back I mentioned that I now have a policy of always having at least three things "out there" which might come off, but might not. I'm even more convinced this is a good plan after the events of last week.
You might know (I've been on about it long enough) that I'm organising a
conference specially for students interested in mobile development. Last week I remembered my policy and sent an email to
Rory Blyth, an MSDN chap of some renown. He is based in the 'states, and so I asked if he would be kind enough to do a video to kick things off. And I jokingly said that if he fancied flying over to England we'd love to see him.
And he's comng. Can't believe it. He is kind of one of my childhood heroes. (is it OK to have childhood heroes who are less than half your age?). Anyhoo, I'm really looking forward to meeting the "nerd you don't mess with" next week.
My lesson for today folks: Keep sending stuff "out there". You never know when one might come back with the goods.....
