What is right?

I've been in the lab for chunks of today, seeing how the first years are getting to grips with C#. The answer would seem to be pretty well. Most people had got chunks of the labs running and were making good progress. I always like seeing how a bunch of people can come up with completely different approaches to the same problem. The difficulty is that they then ask me if they have the "right" solution. The problem is that there is really no "right" one. I just ask "Does it do what the user wants?". As far as I'm concerned, if the answer is yes, the program is perfect.

As one of the said 1st years, I can confirm that programming is all about your own memory. If you can remember all the code, you will be a great programmer. If, like me, you have a memory like a rubbish sieve, you will probably find it a touch more taxing.
