I've just been to the Gizmondo site and discovered that it launches in the US in, er, one day. They have a very nice little video to announce the launch date. If you not heard of Gizmondo it is a british designed Windows CE based mobile games unit, media player, SatNav system, camera and GPRS modem. Very cute.

I've had one for a while and rather like it. If you are thinking of buying a portable SatNav system I'd advise you to take a look at the Giz. For around the same price it gives you a lot more. Movies look good on the display, it has Media Player 10 for protected audio content and the games are pretty good, with a promise of some really nice augmented reality stuff coming soon.
