Wahay. Cheers and jubliations. I've fixed my PC. And today of all days, when everything that could go wrong did. My office PC did the dodo thing this morning. At one point I was wondering what could possibly go wrong next (the answer was, of course, the next thing I tried to do).

And just how did I fix my PC, make it boot properly and get all the USB devices to reappear and function correctly?

I unplugged the printer. Oh yes. My lovely, super quality printing. smart card reading, postcard packing, six ink sporting HP Photosmart 7762 was stopping my computer from working. The cable is now two inches from the socket and all is well.

I wonder if I'll ever dare plug it in again.
