We had a degree ceremony today. I was in charge of giving the opening speech and getting the graduands (that is what they are called before they graduate) into line and making sure they behave themselves. Which they did splendidly. Today was the turn of a cohort of .NET Distributed Systems students to get their MSc qualifications, so it was smiles all round as they came up for their moment of glory. It is at times like this that I reflect on how lucky I am to have this job. I really like doing the teaching bit and seeing the end result. And some of the audience even laughed at one of my jokes.
