Programming, gadgets and life as a lecturer in a UK university.

It must be something they put in the water..

Well, there you go. Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to on the blog again. The coach got back at midnight last night and I've had a few things to tidy up in the meantime. And I've had to wait for my feet to come back down onto the ground again. I've taken a bunch of photos and I'm going to sift through them and tidy them ready for the outside world. But I thought I'd just get a post out there to let people know what happened.

How did we do? Very well.

What did we win? Everything.

From the quiz prize at the super evening meal the night before, to the top award, people from Hull University have managed to triumph. If you had given me a movie script with an ending like yesterday I would have instantly dismissed it as too far fetched and unlikely. And yet here we are. We took down four teams, three of them, "Medaware", "Ariel" and "3 Pair" made it into the top three (not to forget the "Cheese Eaters" - who also put up a grand showing). And then the team that I am mentoring, "3 Pair", go and win the trip to India.

We have been sitting racking our brains and trying to think what it is about Hull that gets us into these situations. The Imagine Cup has been kind to us over the years, but this is just incredible. We think it must be something they put in the water up here. Whatever it is, it seems to have worked......

I always think that when something is that consistant you have to give some of the credit to the faculty. Any school can attract the odd genius but when there are a number of teams all getting to the top than there must be something in the way the teams are trained and coached. Good job all and good luck in India to "3 Pair."

I have subscribed to your blog for awhile now and over time I have grown a very positive impression of Hull's IT school. This 1-2-3 victory at the UK finals confirmed its impressive standing. Well done.
