Well, 'tis done. I've finally finished my Game Developers Conference presentation. 41 slides of deathless prose and 8 demos. I just hope that people like it. There are demos that tell you how to find things in the addressbook (with the Addressbook Roulette drinking game) and demos that let your phone recieve a message and then go bang. (to test this I've been sending SMS messages with just the word "bang" in them - hope that Jack Baur and the CTU don't pick up on any of those). I'll be posting all the presentation and the demos somewhere once I'm usre that everyone is OK with them. One thing that struck me about all of this is just how easy it is to do this stuff on Windows Mobile 5. Want to recieve a text message, change the content and forward it on to three other people? That will take all of twenty lines of program. All in managed code from C# too. Lovely.
It has taken me quite a while to get all of the stuff done, and kept me away from proper tasks (like blogging) but now it is done. Tomorrow we get on the plane to San Jose and so you can expect pictures and stories from the conference floor. I'm even helping to man one of the Microsoft stands during the conference. Come along to booth 628 (Windows Mobile Casual Games) and I'll take a picture of you with my phone and then shoot your image out of the sky with my trusty spaceship laser. Oh yes.
