I'm presently feeling a bit guilty. In a few weeks time the university is being visited by an audit team. Every university gets these now and then, and they randomly pick on courses to take a look at. One of the items they are considering is a course that we validate for a college at Doncaster. I'm the university link person for this, and so I've been preparing for the audit for the last couple of weeks. These things are taken pretty seriously, as well they might be. This is not to say that we don't do a good job, it is just that we need to be seen to be doing one as well. So all our procedures and the documents that describe them must line up.

Anyhoo, last week I found out that when the auditors visit I will be in Las Vegas giving a session at the Microsoft Embedded Developers Conference (MEDC 2006). Fortunately the univesity is very understanding in these situations, and David will be stepping in to cover for me. I can also be contacted by messenger or email during the audit. So I know everything will turn out OK. But I do feel rather guilty. Honest.
