HD TV?

Digital TV is great. We keep being told this. Loads of channels and fuzz free pictures. But the reality is not always the same. I've been watching the London Marathon on our telly, via our digital satellite channel. Now things like marathons give compression techniques a really hard time. A whole screen full of runners means that everything in the picture is changing. And the screen collapses into blocks and colours as a result. In my opinion the old steam analogue picture is much better. We are just about to see the launching of a new high definition service in the UK. With a bit of luck, it might be almost as good as the original one.

Oh well isn't it just great, we ought to take a big leap to digital tv or so we were told. But to later realised we end up paying for more or less the same thing. Isn't it crap sometimes.

This just reminds me of my broadband account, signed up for a ADSL2 service promising speed up to 24MB/s but I just tested my speed to be just above 1.5MB/s .... TPG.com.au
