COOL Hard Disk Icon
Sunday, April 16, 2006 12:58 AM

Ever want something COOL to represent the Grey Square hard disk icon?

It might be something old to you... erm... but i decided to share out this information...

let say this is the hard disk icon which sit in all our windows explorer

and eventually we can change it to this....

cool? ^_^

the thing behind the scene is actually the same as the autorun we have in the CD-rom...

all you need is to place 2 files in the drive which will change the icon... INF and ICO

create a Text file and rename it to autorun.inf with the following text entered.

[autorun]
icon=WMP.ico, 0

where WMP.ico will be replaced with the icon filename that being place in the drive...

EDITED: The same thing apply if you wanna make your USB thumb drive to be represented by your own icon~!! Yeeehhaaaa

enjoy trying~

Band Room...
Sunday, April 09, 2006 6:07 PM

The most recent time I really picked up a music instrument to play a song (perhaps, it should be "contributing to the sound pollution index") was......4 years back~!! [time fly~!!]

Here in the office, i met a senior guy (manager level) who is a guitar player, who is so passionate about music, he even won prizes taking part in song composing competition... Lets call him Jack.

So, me and Jack somehow decided to spend this morning to try playing some songs... so he get another friend of his to join us...

11am, reached the band room.... 3 of us, all play guitar ended up the drummer seat left empty... while still deciding how to solve the problem of the drummer, i found out tht they dont have left-handed guitar there. Yupz, i play guitar in a left-handed manner.
[Wat? look funny? dont think so....Kurt Cobain, Babyface... etc etc... though i knw im still far from them la.... click here]

So, i got to play the drum.... Baaaaaaannnng~!! hahahah'' there it goes.... not too bad... Well, i tried to immitate Ringo Starr's [Beatles Drummer] style (bet u must be cursing..."Jerk, dont disgrace tht classic band).... hahaha''' tht's why i said "IMMITATE" but bet even immitate i will still being found guilty~!! hahaha''

Fun session with frens, eventually with tht "style" of Ringo, i managed to sort of make them believe i knw or i played drum before though i dont~! muahahaha''

Personal Space & Privacy
Wednesday, March 29, 2006 12:44 AM

Finally, the things i been trying to avoid, even in thought, been happening...

I need to share my room with someone who i basically no idea who he is... in a room which i live just good enough for myself

Never been in a single room in all my life, or just happened during my final year where i fork out my pocket money just to get myself a room ...

I'm not trying to be not flexible nor stating Im a unfriendly person... Just tht, i need a room of myself for myself to be myself...

I been at work in day time for at least 10 hours a day, and which probably be longer when tasks n work poured in, so i need something called personal space which there's no protocol govern inside...

Things just left me breathless and mentally distressed...

Yup, in fact sleepless...

Hey Guy, I Just Feel Like Slapping You...
Sunday, March 26, 2006 7:42 PM

Well, I always heard of the word "date-rape" when I reading articles concerning social issues, and probably i have some screws in my head lose to believe that it wasnt really that common to happen in this region of the world...yup, I was wrong... I apologize...

Last Friday, after work, i pick up a call and heard, "Hey pal, come down to Zouk and have a drink~" so, i flagged a cab outside my house and flew straight to the town to meet my friends. So, nice place though. having 4 places joint together, namely Velvet Undergound, Zouk, Phuture, and Wine Bar... my friend passed me a bottle of beers, erm....so, was drinking abit and chit chatting in the Wine Bar....

Then, one of us suggested, "Hey, get the beers done and we are moving to Velvet~" so, okay, a bottle of beer is not really that bad... bottoms up and we went over to Velvet[and eventually went all the places], .... a place with dimmer lights and louder music~ hahaha'' so, one of us ordered Long Island for each of us... [this drink is not as "tame" as the name implied, i used to hang out once with all my coursemates back in university day and a gal who ordered a glass of Long Island Tea been throwing out on me....Arrrrgh... bad experience!!]

So, when the drinks finally came, "What the HE**?? you mean is one JUG of it for each of us and not glass??" so, i was trying to control but being pushed by my friends, i finished the drinks plus another glass of Wisky... [Disclaimers: this is not a binge drinking blog, i dont really do this often either] so, i was halfly passed-out...the feeling is really really bad...damn, so i went outside to get my myself some fresh air and a break... and alcohol kicked in... i finally lying on there [not on the floor, definitely] to take a break...*****

[the real story come in here...]

Out of a sudden, someone shouted out loudly, "FUCK YOU~!!! What is your fucking problem?" and sort of brought me back from my peaceful moment. Soon after that, i figured out that is this group of friends, being divided into gals and guys and they are probably high school around 18 or mayb slightly younger(under age??), was quarreling...

One of these gals get dead drunk, and one of those guys been wanting to bring that gal back to HIS home to sleep her (he said that, in a more vulgar way but tht's the best phrase i got). So, the gals were insisting in objecting the idea and that brought up a fury dispute.. those phrases like "FUCK YOU", "FUCKING...", "CiBai.." been throwing in between them.... till i finally cant stand it anymore... this guy is really needing a slap, I mean why the hell you wanna take advantage of the gal when she is dead drunk on her first outting (heard them saying) Ain't guys are taught to take care of gals??? this guy is really an a**-hole~! but i was pulled back by my friends saying tht this things happened everyday and trying to make sure i dont get into trouble.... sighz....

i think i might regret if anything happened to the gal...totally disappointed by tht guy (or should we call him a *******?)

A new job....
Saturday, March 11, 2006 7:17 AM

Ever since i graduated, when I am looking for a new job, one of the major concern that i would really wanna knw is, are they giving me a laptop  or a desktop for work.... and if im given a choice, i would really love to have a laptop~ (even though i already been using laptop since university days)

So, first job have a laptop, so basically, the laptop "tied" to me 24 hours for weekdays and sometime through the weekend as well....
Side notes:
The advantage of having a laptop: You CAN work at anywhere and at anytime~!! COOL~!!!
The disadvantage of having laptop: You HAVE TO work at anywhere and at anytime~!! Totally UNCOOL~!!!

Now I'm in the second job... initially now that they are not giving me a laptop and i felt abit disappointed ....(coz all my development have to be on-site, having dependency on customer current system environment)

however, after a week without a laptop, things seems to be not as bad.... coz i no longer have to carry anything to work and back home nor need to take care of the laptop when i wanna hang out after work~ phew~~~
the feeling of just get to work "empty-handed" feel way much relax to me, perhaps is because of a new change :D

Wishing you a great day at work too~~

Actually, it do happens....
Sunday, February 19, 2006 7:40 PM

2 days back... I went out to meet a friend. So, as i dont know where is she staying actually, so, we decided to meet a petrol station near her house.

I was 30 minutes earlier to the appointed time, so i went into the shop inside the petrol station... while i'm paying for some titbit at the counter to kill my time...I encountered...

SA = Shop Assistant

Lady:   Excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you but did you guys see or find any car petrol inlet cap here in your petrol station?

[that had drive my curiosity to observe further...]

SA:   Huh? Madam, i beg your pardon.

Lady:   Yesterday i was here to fill up the car petrol, however, i think i left the cap here after filling and i drove off (without the cap)....

[I got a shock~!! a BIG one!!]

SA:   Hang on, let me check... (the shop assistant bend down to get a plastic bag full of car petrol inlet cap, at least 5 inside....!!!)

[MY JAW DROPPED.......]

Lady:   Erm... no, these are not mine... i think i will try to find it somewhere else.....(walked off...)

[Myself:   HUH? WHAT???........walked off to a side and started laughing.... and glad for the lady tht lucky nothing had happened to her driving without the cap...]

Clarify over the previous blog...
Sunday, January 22, 2006 11:44 PM

First of all, deeply apologize for not explaining the previous entry well...

The thing started with me reading a local newspaper headline - "A Lady Got Raped and Murdered" ... in the same report, it was also reporting another 5 cases of ladies got raped and murdered since 24 months ago...6 of them were all pretty and good looking ladies as claimed by the newspaper.

Being born pretty and good looking is always something a girl wanted so much deep in the heart.... is never wrong for wanting to be a good looking person, even a guy will want that too. Who wouldn't wanna be attractive?

However, when everyone believing in being born pretty is a GIFT from heaven... things seems started to change...

With a world (or society) which started to go warped, moral value is no longer planted deep and firm enough in every individual...this had led to a situation which a pretty and good looking lady might be more susceptible to such trajedy... i feel to have a loud cry out deep inside my heart for those ladies...

Wondering will that be the exaggeartion over those media(pornograhpy) or is some imperfection in education??... that might had led to the situation where a small portion (i hope) of man visualize ladies as Sexual Object rather than just another human being like man. (This is quoted from a psychiatrist specialized in criminal reserach)

If such situation go on, aint that gonna turn a GIFT to a CURSE to pretty looking girl? Is nt the gal's fault to be pretty... but is the environment is giving negative impact to her...

From the barbarian age to information and technology advancement age, civilization been a long way....But... to me it seems that i have to agree ... "The more civilize we are the harder for us to uphold the civilization"

What kind of world is that going to be??
Wednesday, January 18, 2006 4:02 AM

What kind of world we are living in if “Pretty” and “Good-Looking” no longer GIFTED elements to gals but in fact is a CURSED??

The more civilize we are the harder for us to uphold civilization....

Long sigh...

A nice software to share...
Tuesday, January 03, 2006 3:08 PM

Some of us might own a PocketPC with WIFI capability, it will be quite handy when you are waiting for someone or needing certain piece of information online.

However, the problem is sometime you might not be able to get immediate notification of the available Access Points (APs) within the range when you are on the move from one location to another or when your PocketPC already connect to the preferred network. The default WIFI function in the PocketPC will not be able to tell you whether a AP is a WEP or Open network until you try to connect…etc etc (at least that’s what I faced)

So, here’s a cool piece of software, it detects all the available APs in the range (refresh rate is up to you to define), with indication of the of the signal strength (RSSI) and if there’s more than one APs around , you can view it in a Radar View (I really love this view) to see the relative strength of each of the APs detected. It will also shows is the particular AP is Open or WEP protected!

Interested in wardrive? This might help… hahaha’’ BUT, be careful, wardrive might be illegal, depending on the laws of your country…  ^_^

It come with GPS function as well (isn't it just cool??), but sad that I don’t have a PocketPC with that capability, may be some of you might try it and let me know, feel free to write to me if you tried that.

Here’s the link to the cool software and a screen shot of the stunning Radar View of the APs available.

Happy New Year 2006
Sunday, January 01, 2006 8:25 PM

First of all, I would like to wish you

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

First of all, I would like to wish you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank for dropping by my blog~!

So, why not share with me how you celebrated the New Year?

For myself, I went to a high place. Any other previous years, I was either in KLCC (somewhere where Microsoft Malaysia office situated) or in Bukit Bintang (place where you can get all kind of software at the cheapest price in Malaysia, hehehe)

So, what is so cool about a high land? Well, I managed to have most part of Kuala Lumpur within my sight. When 12 hit, I see more than 5 different locations having the fireworks simultaneously [is almost everywhere within my sight]... the sound of the fireworks, which like the sound of thunder roaring in the air been non-stop blasting which you can heard it continuously for 5 minutes.

Nice experience, I think I already knew where I will be on the up-coming New Year… hehehe’’
