My dream system configuration
Sunday, March 05, 2006 10:29 AM

folks i think this might be childish but must obey your friends ;). So my friend aswin has "geeky tagged" me. So what is it? you ask . well this is the explaination i copied from his blog(being lazy to type the same thing again ;) )

Rules:
1. The Tagged victim has to come up with the specifications of their dream personal computer.
2. The Specifications have to be feasible : They atleast have to be in the lab. So, you can't ask for the Google Supercomputer :D.
3. The Victim needs to tag atleast two more people. If you are tagged again, you have to start the process again if the dream computer specification has changed.
4. The tagger needs to leave a comment (that he has been tagged) on the victim's blog ;-)

Now i have been thinking of upgrading my system for some time. the following is the config i plan to get and my dream config if it is anything else will be inside brackets. why two you ask? not all dreams can be bought :)

  • AMD Athlon 64 3200+
  • 2 GB DDR RAM ( dream config would be 4 GB :) )
  • any Nvidia GeForce card with 256 MB memory with PCI -  E
  • 200 GB SATA Hardisk ( i think 200 is enough for dream config but if anything else is really needed make it 400 , hey its only dream right :) )
  • any simple Keyboard and mouse ( here it would be Microsoft wirless keyboard and mouse )
  • DVD writer
  • 17" CRT monitor ( i need to research more here but say any flat 17" LCD )
  • Asus A8N-SLI mobo
  • creative 2.1 ( creative 5.1)
  • ( TV Tuner card and dont worry about HD even in dream i cant get HDTV in INDIA ;) )
  • Finally Windows Vista ( premium :) edition)

now this is my config and the ones inside the bracket are my dream config. now my budget is only 30K and this config over here comes around to 40K lets see what whether my dad and Uncle accepts this .

if you have any more suggetions please feel free to comment it .

                         bye spokedom

Off to Bangalore
Friday, February 24, 2006 9:11 AM

At last my college project "RFID Middleware" started moving forward after being out of my home for nearly ten days. And we had a good news that we don't have to code completely for the Imagine cup hence that is a huge releaf. Reza started working on the Presentation and i ll be joining him soon.

the Community Bandwagon is taken over by the ADE team, hence from now on it'll be kevin D'souza who will be incharge of the Road trip. the next leg of which starts at hydrabad,Andra pradesh on 27th February. I wont be able to join this time as my third review is close on heals on march 2nd by which time i must finish my college project. the Community bandwagon this time will be in hydrabad and Secundrabad from 27th February to 3rd March. Exact details may change( as usual) but if any of you are in these two cities, you can contact your student partners to know if your college is visited.Make sure it is coz it will be a lot of Fun and don't forget about the goodies VS Team suite (180 days trial), Express editions,Ready to Rock T-shirts ,Key chains , Pens and highest of all Windows Extreme packs. So grab them all .

Its time to go to bangalore although my interview is on 26th only i thought of attending academic days there on 25th but now that it is postponed i have one day either in front of TV or somewhere roaming in Bangalore. See you guys after i return and hope i ll be cool and give my best :) during the interview.

                                                                 bye for now

Halfway through jumping a well
Sunday, February 19, 2006 1:52 PM

This blog entry is kind of an experiment on how i can improve my blogging . So read it and give your suggestions on how i can improve

how can i say it. i've been having so much to do or atleast engaged in many activites concurrently now than anytime before in my life. Lets go back one year and look at what i was doing last february.

" I was involved in Microsoft Student program building a commerce site and in Imagine cup just for the project Hoshimi besides my regular college."  what did i do then ? i fumbled so much that i didn't touch the project hoshimi and my college exams took priority hence Student project program was postponed to semester holidays

now  that the flash-back is over lets see my current activites . It all started with our trip to bangalore for the Billg event on december 12th. wait a minute there was one thing before as well . Myself, Reza,Sumudu and Baskar decided to participate in Imagine cup's Software design. That was event no 1. Then when we were listening to Mr. Bill Gates he unvield "Code4Bill" with an offer you can't refuse ;) . so that became event no 2. now being always interested in AI ,project hoshimi tempted me to hook it on too. this is event no 3. Then one day Reza called for Student Partner's meet in january . He said that there will be a "Road Trip" . To make a long story short it is an event where student partners from both chennai and bangalore would visit colleges in different cities and introduce them to the local community there as well as inform them about the variuos competitions currently going on. this is event no 4. Now add to this that i am on Project holidays that means i have to complete my Project for my final semester .Now that is event no 5.

i've sofar succesfully juggled all these and have proceeded to the next level. March will be the month i think i can get a final verdict on how i am doing in all these. i am through to the next level in Software design and Project hoshimi.will be attending an interview for code4bill. the Road Trip was named as "Community bandwagon" and it was successful in Tamil Nadu.My personal My College project is through design stage must start building it . so hoping i can continue my juggling.

              bye for now spokedom :)

Here is a Quiz that i've taken and it says that i am a "Cultural Creative" dont know what that exactly means but here is what it gave me

You scored as Cultural Creative. Cultural Creatives are probably the newest group to enter this realm. You are a modern thinker who tends to shy away from organized religion but still feels as if there is something greater than ourselves. You are very spiritual, even if you are not religious. Life has a meaning outside of the rational.

3D Web Site
Saturday, December 17, 2005 10:10 AM

Seeing all those demos of avalon, indigo and other new stuff many of us (including me) would be eagerly waiting gor those. but this doesn't mean those stuff cannot be implemented using current technologies . and like proving this i came across this site http://www.dhteumeuleu.com/ . it contains a number of 3d animations entirely using DOM and the best thing is the author lets u use those good stuff.do check it out . ill end with a fun quote from the author of that web site .

« If you steal from one author it's plagiarism; if you steal from many it's research.

Atlas Experiment
Saturday, October 22, 2005 7:13 PM
don't we like it when our pages simply load fast , i was really impressed by AJAX but it needed some javascript prog. hence the first phase was learning it and i always had a dream of having my own web site. now both my dream by building a site using Atlas. i am sure u would have known about Atlas but for those who don't know about it, its a set of javascript files(that can be used by any platform) and components for ASP.NET 2.0 that can be used to build AJAX web sites just like normal ASP.NET web sites. for more on that check out here And  i found this site combell that offers free 100MB hosting till new year. well i was waiting for this for a long time, but exams gave me little time to play with . hence for the moment i've just uploaded the hands on lab sessions .for those who like check it out heres the address dotnet2473.combell.net . so if any of you tried anything related to asp.net do drop in and let me know, while all others just grab the opportunity and play with ASP.NET 2.0 freely till new year
