Imagine Cup World Finals are approaching very fast and lots of people have been asking us about our project. So finally we decided to start this blog. Here we'll try to tell you more about our project, our experience of building it and - of course! - our experiences at the world finals in India. This is a team blog and we are going to post a lot of photos and even videos here!
So who are we?
We are Kirill (red - according to the color of the t-shirt on the photo below), Sergey (green), Denis (yellow) and Anton (blue) - 3rd year students of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Our project for Imagine Cup 2006 is "Sportster. The high-tech music sportswear". To cut the long story short, we'll just paste here the description of our team and project that went directly into the Imagine Cup 2006 Official Brochure. It's not much text - obviusly, the brochure has space limitations, so expect to learn more about the project in the next posts. Until then -- Enjoy!

7. Background on your Team
Technology, sport and music are our passions. A hardware wizard, a UI design guru, a coding ace, and a math prodigy, 3rd year students and great friends studying Applied Mathematics, Radio Engineering and Cybernetics at Russia’s leading technology university, we teamed up for Imagine Cup 2006 because we like to dream, explore and discover. We are big believers in healthy lifestyle, so this year’s Imagine Cup theme is very close to our hearts. We can hardly imagine our lives without learning new things and trying to make this world a better place.
8. What inspired you to create your Project
We listen to music everywhere: at home, on the road, in the city and while exercising. Music turns a training session into a completely different, exciting experience. Music can inspire and motivate, energize and relax. So wouldn’t it be great to have a personal coach which is always with you, and literally listens to your heart and speaks to your mind the language of music?
9. Project Overview
Sportster is a hi-tech sportswear which uses music to influence athletes’ performance, help them train smarter and have more fun. Sportster training suits are both medical experts and professional coaches that guide your running, cycling or gym workouts, both in real time and in the long term. Turn your workout into a virtual real-time competition with other people wearing Sportster gear. Let the music you love energize your training experience!
10.Technical Overview
Sportster training suit has integrated wiring and pockets which accommodate accelerometers, pulse meter sensors and a microcontroller with our self-developed firmware. The suit’s brain is a smart phone with built-in MP3 player and GPS receiver. During the workouts all Sportster training suits are connected with each other via 3G or GPRS. Sportster training plans were created in collaboration with marathon and fitness coaches, and sport doctors. Sportster uses Baevsky method of heart rate variability analysis developed as part of the Soviet Union Space Program to monitor and predict the physiological state of cosmonauts.
