Trav's video game history trivia fact

Trav's video game history trivia fact

If you read my profile you'll see I'm a fan of retro games and video game history.  So I figured I'll throw out a little fun fact that's collecting dust in my brain.

Did you know Coleco actually stands for Connecticut Leather Company that actually produced shoes.  Then (somehow) they got into toy production and plastic swimming pools.  I'm guessing since they had access to plastic molding devices it somehow lead to them making a video game console as they could make the mold themselves and wanted to make some money in the new toy venture... video games.

I did a quick google search and
found this good link on the subject, heck, I had no idea Cabbage Patch Kids were made by Coleco and yet they still went out of business 6yrs after launching the dolls, talk about a legendary case of poor business with the hottest product of the 80s.
