The best deodorant money can buy (and it's cheaper than what you use now)
The best deodorant money can buy (and it's cheaper than what you use now)
As you probably read in my previous post about health, that aluminum (in most deodorants) is very damaging to brain and nerve cells. So obviously one should switch to a deodorant that doesn't contain aluminum. Fortunately I have always bought Brut, which confidentially never had aluminum.
During my phase of switching to chemical free products, I tried many of the natural deodorants such as Tom's of Maine and some Tea Tree Oil based ones but I was never happy with how well they worked which was not very well at all. After I had pretty much done through every product available I finally decided to try the infamous crystal rock, sometimes called the Thai stone. I've heard about it for years but I always though how could a piece of rock be a useful deodorant.
I purchase a travel size (2oz) stick for $2.00 at gave it a try. You have to wet it (since it's mineral based, not a gel or goop like traditional deodorants) and rub it on. I started to really doubt it would work because even after wetting it, nothing notable was on my armpits. But to my surprise, it worked better that day than any other deodorant I have ever used.
Where as your normal deodorant costs around $3 or $4 and lasts 3 months, this costs a mere $2 and at the 5 month mark, has only used about 10% of the crystal. At this rate it will last almost 9 years!!!!
After I discovered that it worked better than any product I did before I did a little research on the net to find out why and here's a quick rundown.
We all know it's not your sweat that stinks, but bacteria growing at the sweat, consuming the oils, and excreting rancid oils which smell. Now back in the 1800s people would use perfume to cover up the smell. In the 1900s scientists learned how to create deodorants to slow down the production of bacteria growth. Well if that is the most effective means, then why not use a product that is more effective at stopping bacteria growth than what you use now.
