Apache is still in the stone age

Apache is still in the stone age

DISCLAIMER: Total and utter ranting!

Ugh, Apache still lives in the stone age.  Why does it still cut off file names when viewing directory lists to a mere 20 characters so the whole screen can be 62 characters.  We're not using 640x480 anymore people.  And anybody that still does, deserves to scroll.

I had people who would rather cripple 99% of the user base to made a good experience for 1% and a piss poor for the other 99%.

I've been using Apache for a while now. I like it because its small and does exactly what it needs to do. Plus its free and can turn crappy boxes into nice webservers. What I get sick of are the people who go around and yell at peoples sites because they don't render right on Lynx and terminal windows...

I've actually been using Apache for years but now that I only deal with internal company stuff, I donly deal with IIS6. I don't miss apache except for the fact the httpd.conf made it easy to do quick config changes. I just wanted to rant because I'm sick of my file names getting truncated when viewing them. I don't have any other problem with Apache besides the fact it doesn't run well on Windows.
