Commenting before coding & Dvorak vs Qwerty proven
I've been using that "commenting before coding" method (mentioned in my previous post) where I use a template of code and throw out methods with names and commenting them and them writing the code later on. I'm finding the whole programming experience more enjoyable and it's helping me think about the overall picture instead of the "1 step up the ladder" way you think when you simply churn out methods as you need them.
Also I've been using the Dvorak keyboard layout for over a year now and I can saw I'll never do back to Qwerty. The learning curve was about 4 weeks before I was comfortable, but it was SO worth it. Think Dvorak is bullsh!t? Well now you can see for yourself with all it's nerdy detail. Here's a Java app that lets you type in a phrase and it tells you the distance (in meters) your fingers had to travel, and the balance of your hands (it's faster to type when letters alternate from one hand to another when you type).
