My <# WebPartBody #>.02 on NJ's governor James McGreevey stepping down

My <# WebPartBody #>.02 on NJ's governor James McGreevey stepping down

I really have a problem with this whole incident about James stepping down.  In my opinion this only sends one clear message to the public, that if you're gay, you're not able to work in the government.

I think James is the biggest traitor to the American people and instead of admitting and stepping down, he should have admitted and then taken the opportunity to state that his personal life DOES NOT affect his ability to work as governor.  He could have challenged the bigots of the nation to even find legitimate reason why he should leave office.  I believe Clinton proved the whole affair issue is not impeachable material, nor should it.  If you think cheating is some kind of heinous crime well I recommend you go read up on some infidelity studies and you'll see over 50% of married people cheat.  I'm not defending it, just stating the facts.

Anyways, my point is I think James has done more damage to the movement of gay acceptance than Bush ever will.  This is really the match that starts the fire, but I guess only time will tell.

Just because everyone does something, doesn't make it unworthy of scorn - I'm talking about infidelity, not homosexuality. I still think blatant racism is bad, and there's plenty of that running around here as well.
