The Worst Coding Idea Ever

The Worst Coding Idea Ever

Lately, because of a post on another blog I have been reading the DailyWTF blog.  Today's post has got to be the worst design idea I've ever seen or heard, even programmer jokes haven't been this absurd.

In a nutshell, somebody needed to know on a certain date, which DayOfTheMonth it was and what DayOfTheWeek it was.  So instead of calling the built in functions to do so, they created a SQL table with EVERY day from 1990 to 2100 (hey at least the guy's solution Year2000 type death was far enough into the future).

This one is worthy of printing up and putting on your wall.

Well it is an out of the box idea. :-)
