Adobe Acrobat 7, junkware of the year, BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT

Adobe Acrobat 7, junkware of the year, BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT

Well it looks like it's official, Adobe Acrobat 7 is the worst version of Acrobat yet.

While I've never been a fan of Acrobat because of it's bloated ram usage, the fact it stays resident in memory after you view a PDF link in IE (so that it won't have to reload the next time you click a link) and the fact the draw speed of a PDF even on a 2ghz machine makes me think I'm running a 386 all over again.  Now it seems Adobe thought up how to make Acrobat.  I was really hoping 7 would be the first good copy since version 3 or whenever I decided Acrobat was bloated crapware.

Adobe made promises it would be "the fast Acrobat yet" and I was hoping they were going to perform a total rewrite and it would be a lean mean document machine.  It seems it's all a big hoax.  Acrobat 7 is currently my most hated piece of software that I still (but not for long) application that I have to run.  I felt the same way about Real about 5 years ago and looking at how unpopular Real is, it seems the general public agrees.  If Adobe can't clean up their act (heck it's already too late in my eyes) then imho the PDF format is as doomed as the dreaded .RAM format.

Why is Acrobat 7 so horrible?  If not for any other reason, only because instead of optimizing or rewriting the Acrobat code they simply load Acrobat into memory on bootup!!!!  I mean ram is more common then it use to be but wasting 30+megs of for no reason is INSANE.

BOYCOTT ACROBAT, BOYCOTT BLOATWARE, BOYCOTT JUNKWARE.

It's the only way to make these companies listen.  If they don't want to listen, then watch your market share get stolen by a superior & leaner solution like what MP3/WMV has done to Real's RAM format.

If Adobe wants to offer a feature rich Acrobat that's fine, but give us an Acrobat Lite ,which lacks all the exessive architecture and plugins.  I want a smaller download and an even smaller memory footprint.  I don't see why we can't have an Acrobat that uses 10megs of ram.
