I decided it would be neat to see the adoption of different popular browsers so using stats from TheCounter.com I composed this graph. There was actually some interesting history before Jan 99 with the IE4 vs NS4 war where yo can see the tail end of it here, obviously the average user was moving from the dominate Netscape 4 to IE4.
Personally I didn't leave Netscape 4 until IE5 came out, and ironically I only left Netscape was because I was sick of it randomly crash on my eBay pages for no good reason.
