Expression Web Designer training
Friday, June 23, 2006 8:23 AM

Christopher Lohr has just pressed the "magic button" to make the new Expression Web Designer demo/training videos available for our customers via our public Expression website:  http://www.microsoft.com/products/expression/en/web_designer/demos.mspx?v=wd_layout;

These videos include a full hour demo and intro level training on Expression Web Designer. These videos were created once more by the design industry acclaimed video training firm, Total Training.   As in previous ocasions Total Training did a great job on putting these videos together, this time with the help of Janine Warner, great presenter and author in the web design world.

We expect these videos will communicate our customers the goodness of Expression Web Designer and will raise awareness and "love" for the tool which is currently in CTP stage and available for public try out at the same Expression site. Since MIX06 we've been getting some great comments about the tool comming from the web design community where our "Standards Based" statement has been greatly appreciated and highly recognized.

MIX 06 All Sessions Are Now Online
Monday, May 08, 2006 9:06 AM

Perhaps you attended MIX06, or, maybe you didn’t make it . You can now view all 52 sessions—including Bill’s keynote—online. And, just like hitting the jackpot in Vegas, we’re hosting all of this for anyone to access for free. Make sure you tell your friends.

We’ve upgraded our post-conference experience, and because you asked, we made it easy to download each session for offline viewing. You can also grab the PowerPoint presentations to show to your staff or local user group. And although you can show the slide decks around the family dinner table, we don’t recommend it.

So, when you’re ready, clear your calendar and dive in.

SQL Express / Visual Studio Starter Kit
Tuesday, April 25, 2006 9:00 AM

The SQL Express / Visual Studio Starter Kit, developed for Microsoft is now available for download !

The Teacher Starter Kit is a desktop Winforms application that uses SQL Express as its data store.  It is not designed as an enterprise application - it is targeted to less experienced developers and/or developers developing simpler applications.   However, what it does do, it does really well.  It shows off various different techniques and technologies, including the new DataSet and TableAdapter designer, the new data binding controls, the new ReportViewer control, and extending the functionality of the TableAdapter (implementing transactions) via partial classes.

Download it from http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/sql/starterkit/default.aspx#teacher (available in both VB and C#)

Check it out, then tell your friends and colleagues about it.
