Have you selected "Bring remote computer sound to this computer" in the connection's properties?

Remote Desktop is just teh wrapper term for Terminal Services since XP.

I assume what you're alluding to here is htat you're using the tsweb client which is an ActiveX of the RDC client. If you go and look at hte source code of the launcher page in teh tsweb vdir, you should see some bits you can flip to toggle the various channelized features.

If you happen to be using the MMC snapin for TSC which is included in the Micro$oft adminpak then you need to invoke the snapin using the /s switch. e.g. "tsmmc.msc /s" to import sound into the snapin.

I ran into this problem today, what I did was went to: Start -> Run and typed: tscc.msc, under Terminal Services Configuration, connections should be highlighted and look to the right hand side and then you should see RDP-tcp, right click and go to properties and click on client settings and make sure that audio mapping is NOT checked, press okay and reboot and that should do the trick.

One step further:

Is it possible to install a virtual sound driver on a server without having a sound card and then routing sound streams to clients? I want to create thin client workstations with skype access but I can't upgrade my server with a sound card.

Thanks
