why is that the software design invitation has to be done in .NET 2? i do agree that its the latest and is a rock star, but getting go with it may take some time..!! it would be great if .NET 1.1.4 applications are also excepted..!!

I don't understand what do you want ... if you do an .NET 1.1 application,I thinks you can rebuild it in .NET2.0 ... .NET 2.0 only give you new functionnalities added to the .NET 1.1 ...

I think ( i not sure of that ) .NET 2.0 is quicker than .NET 1.1 ...

So why do you want to stay in .NET 1.1 when you can do the same thing in .NET 2 ???

but there're "the" components that one designs for reusabilty or stuff similar .. or downloads it from the net for easyness!! i tried .net 2 beta and faced loads of problem referencing them... ny ways if its 2.0, i gotta change to 2.0 then.. and also i'm aware of the fact that .net 2 rocks!! check this benchmarks : http://www.theserverside.net/articles/showarticle.tss?id=NET2Benchmarks

If you have finally decided to join, don't use Beta2 to do your system. To Smallpox, .NET 2.0 IS fater than .NET 1.1, you're right at that. :)

To: shauryaanand, .NET 2.0 has RTM which means it is no longer in Beta. I encourage to get a full academic version from your faculty thru the MSDNAA program when it's available. I would suggest not to using Beta 2 for your submission since the full version has been released. Contact your local ADE to find out how what is the best way for you to get a copy of Visual Studio 2005. Good luck with your entry.
