That's a gray area. Well, what is the use of Acrylic if all you did was import the image from another designer? But I think there is nothing wrong if you import the image and then do some more editing using Acrylic. It will be very hard to tell how much editing you did in Acrylic. But if you really get to the world finals, don't even doubt, they will make you use Acrylic to do lots of design work. If you don't know how to use it skillfully, you won't win anyway. :)

hi all;

i have some questions too:

1-what is the most important "coding or interface design or both"?that is to say, when we make our project for interface designer invitation, what sould we focus on?

2-for coding: which program can we use?(asp, php, xml, java script???)

3-can we use another software to improve our skill in this invitation( except graphic softwares)?(like Flash, any 3d program, any web developer software)

(i know this is a microsoft competition. we should firstly use its software. but sometimes microsoft's softwares dont enough)

hey ahalimkara!

firstly, u gotta know this category concentrates on "Creativity and usability" of the design! regarding the code.. point 2 of the guidelines for the competion:

"Teams will create interface designs that represent the theme and envision software or web applications either existing or not, designers are not restricted to running applications in order to conceive and create their designs but must mock up a demonstration version for the 2 nd round that represents how the interface would work"

can help you!!

also u gotta use expressions.. "Use of Microsoft Expression design tool code name "Acrylic Graphic Designer" for all designs " :(

i know this might seem sad; but expr's not that bad.. i kinda like it's ease of use and the xml support.. cool n nice..
