Well, I tought all over and came to a decision , that I take part! :) Now I need to know what is it all about IT. In the description it is written databases, networks, servers. I don't understand what does they mean by this: areas of analysis and decision making in IT environments??

So, if you're so kind... answer me where do you learn out and study? Which books do you read and so on? Or you just use google and stare at the monitor till the night falls? :)

You are expected to know of networking and network infrastructure here.

Umm, yeah I've registered too, but have no idea what to do. I guess we have to propose the system architecture and which tools to use for a given scenario ... but its just a guess, no idea on what its officially about.

Last year it was something like that.

There's this scenario that you have to analyze and decide what's best for that.

Well, the scenario is pretty broad.

Basically, a multinational company wants to set up some redundant, robust networking infrastructure with a good security policy, etc etc.

Specifications are outlined - like what types of applications (web) and what they need to run - databases. Other things might be like, 10000 users in one place, and 20000 in another - and each needs different things but share some things. Things like, one office might use a dialup connection that's really flakey and another uses a dedicated T1 - how do you make sure there's no data loss? Some offices in this scenario might have mobile users - so outline a good security policy and methods to prevent viruses and worms from propagating - using ISA :-)

The entire scenario was pretty long - so there were pretty much many ways to interpret some things.

I am a new member to this messaging system!so regarding your reply to those guy's messages, you just have 2 specify what type of networks should be done, what type of servers should be set-up etc...?

Hello all,

I'm the last year finalist at IT section and my picture is in the movie that present IT invitational J.

So, you must concern all your time for the first phase of IT invitational.

In this phase you have 6 or 7 section to prepare:

-         networking

-         security

-         cryptography

-         CISSP

-         Windows networks (find study guide for 70-270, 70-290, 70-291, 70-293, 70-924)

-         Somme Linux/Unix stuff (beginner level)

-         C.I.A. concept

For second phase you have a home work that consist in answer of 100 questions and complete a business case described below.

For business case you must prepare 70-297 MCSE exam and WSSRA documentation.

Good luck everyone!
