Seems like two features from the old Spoke are missing in the new one. Notably the tools that assist in editing HTML (we have to type raw HTML code now?) to do things like add links or Bold something and also it seems like we're now limited to a dozen-ish predefined categories.

Am I missing something?

Nope.  You aren't missing something.

The controls for those entries use the builtin CS TextboxEditor control instead of the FTB (FreeTextBox) control.  It's the default behavior of CS.

I've made a note about it in our project plan to discuss.

Thanks!

Wow, well I hope so. Composing blogs of more than one paragraph or with anything more than plain text is almost painful now.

It actually discourages me from updating mine, to be frank.

I have a little personal blog on MSN Spaces and their interface is so much more robust that it really underscores the shortcomings.

Are you adding links to your post manually using HTML? I usually create my links using the 'Create Link' button (2nd button on the toolbar from the right). I am only pointing this out in the most respectfuly manner just in case the UI toolbar design is not clear enough.

Hmmm...I don't have any toolbar. All I get is a plain text entry box (similar to this one) so I don't see any alternative to manually typing in the HTML code.

I've checked every "settings" option I can find to see if maybe I have something turned off somewhere but I don't see anywhere to enable any toolbars.

I even have to enter the [p] codes in order to get paragraphs. If there is supposed to be a toolbar that handles all of that I would love to find it...

Actually, I just checked.  Ok, ignore my previous post.

What browser are you using?

If your browser is not detected as a supported browser by FreeTextBox, then it reverts to a standard textbox.

I know IE 7 Beta has issues with CSS, and it's not detected by FTB.  I was using IE7 when I made that post above.

Post Editor

Hi bschorr, this is a screenshot of the Editor toolbar I was referring in my previous response.

Ah. Bingo. I'm running IE7. Guess I just have to wait for MS to get an update to IE7 that is more compatible with TheSpoke.

Thanks!
