Hi!

I tried to practice with Herbert using the link given by zadik in another thread. However, where Herbert starts, it just displays the "Loading data..." message in the middle, and appears to be frozen. Anybody else getting this problem? I am using WinXP/SP2 and both .NET 1.1 and 2.0 are installed.

Dave

I have a problem when I try to get the warm up challenges, I got an error on Microsoft IE Execute Shell. Does anybody have the same problem?
If somebody could take the challenges, please tell me what are they about.

I have the same probleme (shell error)

Use the last year Herbert ( http://www.wildnoodle.com/challenge/UI/contestant/Tutorial.aspx ) but you'll have any level to do (just the interface, but it's a good way to familiarise with the herbert language)

If someone could post some levels it could be great for us ^^

I got the following message all the time for the last couple of days:

H0002: Unable to load data. Connection to the server timed-out. Please try launching after some time.

And I've followed the help page (adding trusted site and so on). I'm using WinXP Home SP2, .NET 2.0, IE 6.

Problem : in level 9 points aren't counted... No matter I collect 1 or 20, the score is 0. Do you know something about this ?

   1. My program is in test stage so it has only a few bytes..
   2. Number of points appeared when I comleted the level, so I think it's a bug..

If your byte count is high enough, the you won't get any points no matter what you do. Check the way scores are calculated for this... generally, if you're using more than double the bytes needed for the level, you won't get any points.

ok. let me get some clarification on what is and isn't still an issue here.

vdave, Floooder, zanty: i believe those problems were related to accessing a pre-release version of the site (someone posted a link to that here before it went live). to my knowledge those were resolved by the time the site officially went live. let me know if not.

ilhamwk: we recently increased the timeout value. are you still getting this error?

nikita: that is actually working correctly - look at the scoring page and you'll see places where it says "this is an integer divide and the result may be zero." level 9 at its current points value is one of those rare cases where PointsPerButton works out to be zero, so you don't get any points until you solve the level. it turns out when we correct the level points on thursday, though, that it will change the calculations so that you get 1 point per button for partial solutions, which i agree is more fun.

adriangodong: which problem are you referring to?

thanks,
brian
