they are demanding a webservice. So web option is the best. But see to it that you create a self create web service and not just  a website.

Hi Guys ... I have had a contact with MS Egypt guys regarding the SD invitaional in Egypt and they said that the local competition for Egypt will be held in April by MS Egypt. The specifications for the SD design invitaional are very clear on the imagine cup website. but to summarize .. coontestants have to develop a web serivce using .NET 2.0 and your software must conform to the theme of the competition "Imagine a world where technology can help people lead healthier lives" - so I don't think a game would do good (@clever). However I have a detailed pdf file about thespecifications for all invtationals including the SD one. I'll be glad to pass it on to those of you who want it.

Yes, software design include all designs (desktop applications, distributed applications, web applications, etc.)

As nendu mentioned, you have to create at least one web service in your solution. My best advice is to think about an SOA architecture : you will see that web services are central in this concept.

Yes, you're required to include have at least one web service in your solution.

You can design wathever you want - regarding the theme "Imagine a world where technologies help us to live healthier lives" - even a game, but you must respect several prerequistes.
