RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION DESCRIPTION
Firm58 develops and markets On-Demand Post-Trade Management software solutions for hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, futures commission merchants (FCMs), broker/dealers, and clearing firms.  As we continue our growth and customer implementations, we are looking for a Java developer with experience building user interfaces, someone to own our web application view and controller layer.  If you’re seriously interested in building mission critical applications with the latest technologies, Firm58 is the place for you.  The desired candidate, for this high impact development position, will have 2-3 years experience developing web applications using Java, JSPs, and Spring, Struts, or Jade.  In addition to an interesting and challenging position, Firm58 offers a competitive salary, healthcare, 401(k), and a very casual work environment.
Job Responsibilities
•    Develop view and controller layers using JSP and Spring
•    Work closely with server-side engineers in developing user
•    interface screens, charts, and reports
•    Design innovative user interface solutions for complex application
•    functionality
•    Work with marketing to establish corporate branding and look and
•    feel standards
•    Help define the common presentation layer for our corporate
•    technology stack
•    Recommend new technologies or 3rd party products to enhance our
•    offering and improve development productivity

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
•    2-3 years Java development experience
•    1-3 years experience developing views and controllers with Spring, Struts, or other MVC framework
•    Hands on development with HTML and JavaScript and JSP. Familiarity with AJAX a strong plus.
•    Ability to work closely with others
•    Be a clear thinker with ability to reason through and conceptualize abstract problems.
•    Ability to work independently with limited supervision (self-motivated, self disciplined, etc.).
•    BS or higher education credentials are required.
EDUCATION

•    Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
